5 ways to take care of your skin in summer

During the summer, the skin is exposed to the harmful rays of the sun and often becomes dry and rough to the touch. And although it may appear tanned, it is actually a protective action of your body that increases the production of melanin. Therefore, if you want to enjoy beautiful and healthy skin, you need to spend a little more time caring for it in the summer.

1. Use sunscreen with sunscreen

Whether you’re sunbathing on a Greek beach, cycling on a sunny day, or going out for a walk at noon, you should use sunscreen in the summer.

Even if you want to tan, use a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF (preferably 50 SPF), but be sure to use another body lotion and another specialized face cream. Many women think that with the weakest sunscreen they will tan faster, and this only leads to a painful burn on the skin.
Still not sure? In this case, you should be aware that the sun’s rays accelerate the aging of the skin, which can also leave traces of unsightly spots.

Therefore, always have sunscreen with you, and if you sunbathe near the water, lubricate yourself after each bath. It is also better to give up intensive sun exposure between 10-16. It is difficult to avoid this, especially on vacation, but from time to time you can take cover in the shade of trees or under an umbrella from the sun.

2. Remember to drink water regularly

You should know that moisturizing can be carried out not only from the outside, with the help of creams and lotions, but also from the inside. Therefore, you should drink at least 1.5-2 liters of water daily. In the summer, it is very easy to moisturize, which will be immediately noticeable on your skin, so drink still water regularly.

However, do not drink the whole glass of water, drink it in small sips – then you will best replenish your body with water. And when you travel, you can always carry a handy filter bottle with you to fill with tap water.

3. Exfoliate the epidermis once a week

Do you think that in the summer your skin does not need exfoliation? Then you are wrong! Sun, wind or chlorinated water means more dead cells build up on your skin.

Just be careful with deep exfoliating peels, because after using them and sun exposure, discoloration can appear on the skin.

However, this is a great time to try a homemade coffee, salt, or sugar scrub. By the way, you should know that coffee peeling has an anti-cellulite effect…

4. Thoroughly cleanse the skin

If you have oily or combination skin, you probably know that the sebaceous glands work more intensively in summer. Therefore, during this period, attention should be paid to cleansing the skin.

Also, owners of dry and normal skin should not forget about this stage of care. And at the end of the procedure, wash well with tonic (in summer, however, avoid homemade apple cider vinegar tonic, which brightens the complexion).

5. Make sure your skin is hydrated

Every morning and evening, lubricate the entire body with a light lotion or body milk. Even if you remember to drink water regularly, it may not be enough to hydrate your skin, which is exposed to the sun on a daily basis.

Avoid thick, fatty foods in favor of light-weight products that absorb quickly. The best ones will be water-based – leave butter or shea butter for the winter.

Also read in your cosmetics – if a product has paraffin (also known as mineral oil) in it, you can put it back on the shelf. Liquid paraffin creates a barrier on the skin that prevents the absorption of other valuable lotion ingredients. Unfortunately, mineral oil is found in many products, most often in one of the first places in the composition. Not only is it a waste of money because such a cosmetic product is not very effective, but your skin can be dry despite regular use of the cream.

Turn to creams and lotions with D-panthenol, which has a soothing and regenerating effect, improves the lipid barrier of the epidermis and prevents water loss through the epidermis – in summer it is an ideal ingredient in any cosmetics.

If you want your skin to be soft to the touch, softly tanned, and looking radiant, you need to pay more attention to your current skin care routine. However, by following these few simple rules, you will definitely take care of it properly.
