6 Effective Ayurvedic Remedies for Gray Hair

Unfortunately, premature graying is as common in today’s world as coughs and colds. There are people in their twenties who are turning gray at an alarming rate. Genes alone cannot be blamed for this. This is not the only reason. There are a number of factors that lead to premature gray hair.

Causes of gray hair

First of all, an unbalanced diet. A diet of fast food, white flour, carbonated drinks and sugar is not good for skin and hair health. Include plenty of fresh salads, lean meats like fish and chicken, fruits and green vegetables in your daily diet for healthy skin and hair. Just as important is brown rice, which contains vitamin B12, iron, and omega-3s. Limit your alcohol intake and increase your intake of coconut water, lemon water, or fresh fruit juices.

Today’s life is also filled with stress, so you need to find ways to relax. Listen to soothing music, meditate, exercise, do yoga or do something that will make you switch off for a while and relieve stress.

In addition, there is a constant need to strengthen the immune system in order to protect against infections and diseases. Therefore, vitamins should be taken to stay healthy.

Or perhaps a tendency to early graying of the hair.

How to prevent premature graying

If there is no regular hair care program, it is necessary to choose one. It’s time to pay more attention to beauty than to resort to it for special occasions. Results will appear only when there is regular and diligent hair and skin care. Here are some proven recipes from the Ayurvedic beauty repertoire to bring hair back to life:

1. Amla Powder

Heat 500 ml of coconut oil and add 1 cup of amla powder, simmer for half an hour. Infuse in a dark place for 24 hours and then strain. Use twice a week as an oil head massage.

2. Curry leaves

Grind a bunch of curry leaves with 2 teaspoons amla powder and 2 teaspoons brahmi powder. Apply the mask to the hair, not forgetting to coat the roots. Leave on for an hour and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo.

3. Basma and henna

These are natural dyes that have been used for hair coloring since ancient times. Basma creates a bluish-black color and is therefore mixed with henna to cover gray areas. As a result, the hair will become dark in color.

4. Coconut oil

Coconut oil and lemon juice mixed together will help darken your hair. The combination of these two causes a chemical reaction that naturally darkens hair over time.

5. Black tea

Black tea is another effective ingredient that helps prevent gray hair. Tea decoction is used as a conditioner after shampooing. Also soak black tea leaves for 2 hours in warm water and grind until smooth. Mix with a little lemon juice and apply as a hair mask for 40 minutes.

6. Herbal mix

This herbal decoction is suitable for slowing down the aging process of hair and is easy to prepare at home. Mix 1 teaspoon of amla powder, 2 teaspoons of black tea, 1 teaspoon of strong coffee, 1 piece of walnut bark, 1 teaspoon of indigo, 1 teaspoon of brahmi powder and 1 teaspoon of triphala. Add 2 liters of water and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes. Cool and strain. Apply to roots 30 minutes before shampooing.
